The Switch Modules configuration window is used to manually configure the switching system by selecting and defining the required

module

interface and its driver (LXI Modular or LXI Standalone or PXI/PCI)

module address

virtual name

The Active selection checkbox enables or disables the use of the module. In case of missing hardware just uncheck Active.

Important: any existing wiring and routes referencing an inactive module will show errors. The project would not be read to use.

The Driver Init checkbox enables or disables the module initialization (reset) during init.

A none initialized module behaves like a module which is booted offline.

Uncheck Driver Init if a module is not physically present in the configuration but other project hardware should continue to work.

Only modules which are correctly defined in the configuration can be used later on.

To add a module to the configuration the platform type entry must be chosen. If it's a PXI module used in a LXI Modular Chassis, this chassis has to be added as well.

For detailed explanation on how to use the filter, sort and edit and manipulate each column and cell refer to section EasyEdit

In case a module in the configuration needs to be replaced by another use the Replace button, therefore select the module to be changed and select the new module from the list on the left. Be aware that all endpoints which do not match after the replace will be empty or lost, thus any wiring and pre-defined routes.

i.e. replacing a 32x8 matrix to a 64x4 matrix loses endpoints y5...to y8 and gains endpoints x33 to x64.
