To open the automatic modules detection press the Auto-Detect button under the Switch Modules tab.

The setup for the detection has already been prepared. It's recommended to use the default settings.

If one or the other platform is not available its detection can be set to No.

Detect now starts the network search...

In case a detected module is not supported by SPM like resistor modules or various non switching devices a warning will be displayed.

This happens also if a module is detected but not defined in SPM yet - Please contact Pickering Interfaces to provide a free update.

The example below shows various detected modules: PCI, PXI and modules used in two separate Pickering LXI Modular Chassis.

The lines with the blue background are the preselected items to be added to the configuration.

When adding modules from a LXI Chassis the chassis itself will be included automatically.

Adding devices from the Auto-Detect list will not override existing devices with the same content in the configuration, thus any existing configuartions can easily be amended with the Auto-Detect function.
