Endpoint Protection is a means of protecting the switching system for unwanted misuse.
A very common example on this subject is to avoid connecting a Power Supply V+ pin with a GND pin.
This functionality can be achieved by selecting protection attributes to each individual endpoint.
Endpoint Protection Rules
Accept all (no Protection Group defined) - no limitation when connecting (default setting)
Accept all (Protection Group defined) - can accept all connections but other group members must match
Accept group members - connection possible between group members AND endpoints set to Accept all
Reject group members - rejects connections within group members
Reject all - rejects all connections

The above settings will result in the following
•Connecting PS_V+ with GND will fail because these endpoints are in different protection groups
•Connecting PS_V+ with UUT+ will be possible because UUT+ is set to Accept all
•Connecting Output1 with Output2 will fail because these endpoints reject the same group members
•Connecting Output1 or Output2 with any others endpoints will be possible if those are set to Accept all
•Y4 rejects all connections

Multiple groups can be assigned to a single endpoint
Note: use the combination protection groups very carefully. It might will override previous settings.
In the above example it will short GND and Power when applied to X1 at the same time.
